Kyrenia municipal open air market. Here you will find fantastic
value on a vast range of goods, especially fruit, vegetables,
cheeses, yoghurts, oils and vinegars (often brought in from the
country by farming families), fish, footwear, clothing and all sorts

Market. Friday weekly.
Here you can buy about everything you might need; clothing,
household items, flowers, fish and fresh fruit and vegetables. You
can also buy freshly pressed olive oil there, mostly made by the
vendor itself (and it does come very often in re-used bottles of

Guzelyurt Market. Saturday weekly.
Everything from clothes, shoes, nuts, sweets, olive oil,
honey, home made cheese as well as fruit and vegetables are sold.
Produce is fresh, and local people are encouraged to sell the excess
from their own gardens. The market opens early, and continues till
about 1pm. It is situated on the main street opposite the museum and

Green Monday,
15th February.
A Public holiday in the RoC. Green Monday is also know as Clean
Monday, Pure Monday and Ash Monday. This is the first day of the
Greek Orthodox Lent. It occurs in the beginning of the 7th week
before Easter Sunday. The day is celebrated in the RoC by outdoor
excursions, kite flying and consumption of seafood and other

Eco-Tourism Association, the market has handicrafts, traditional
food, and local produce.

Various times, Sidestreets Nicosia in collaboration with !f˛: A
Transterritorial Experiment in Film. This year, !f Istanbul is
curating a broad variety of innovative films assembled to foreground
certain themes and concepts. They are collaborating with 15 other
centres in Turkey and the Middle East to share a selection of highly
acclaimed films with as wide an audience as possible, and to
facilitate a collective conversation “with a very innovative new
digital technology, allowing films to travel great distances,
unweighted by the canisters and reels that previously made such an
enterprise both difficult and costly, without compromising on
top-notch visual quality”. Sidestreets in Nicosia, Cyprus will be
showing 5 films in parallel (at the same time) with !F’s other
chosen locations in Turkey and the Middle East. The films
scheduled to be shown at Sidestreets are:
